A Westside Story...
Chef Lou was born in Boise and when he was 11 days old, his family moved back to their home state of Alabama. He spent his first 11 years of his life there, but his family moved back to Boise in 1973.
Lou graduated from the American Culinary Federation's Chef's Apprenticeship program at BSU in 1984 to be the youngest Certified Executive Chef in Idaho at the time.
In 1994, Lou and his partner Ron Isaacs (Father-in-Law) purchased The Westside Drive-in. The Famous Westside Drive In is a local institution! It started in the late 50s and was bought by Chef Lou Aaron in 1994 and forever changed its history. He created a large, chef-inspired menu with menu favorites from gourmet burgers with local beef, house roasted meats for delicious sandwiches, to scratch Beef Stroganoff, Meatloaf dinners, in-house stocks, sauces, soups, and every order is cooked right when you order it. The Westside has been featured on many TV shows, most famously "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives twice. The Westside Drive In holds the title of Boise's Best Finger Steaks which are hand cut daily. We're famous for our customer service, food quality and portion size of scratch, made to order meals through the convenience of a nostalgic drive thru!
He also 100% wholeheartedly believes that Happy Cooks make Happy People!
Chef Lou's Children Josh & Emily now run the restaurants and keep his traditions and standards alive!
